Volunteering with
St. Peter's
There are many ways you can volunteer at St Peter’s and many reasons to do so. Not only does volunteering help St Peter’s, but research has shown it can help improve wellbeing and have a positive impact on mental health. Volunteering also helps everyone to feel connected and part of our community.
Ways to Volunteer

St Peter’s Café, Tuesday to Saturday. Volunteers are essential to the running of our community café. The roles include serving at the counter, clearing tables, café chaplain, marketing and visitor information. If you would be interested in helping with any of these roles, or finding out more, call in and have a chat with our café manager.

Sunday services have volunteers for the welcome team, refreshments, intercessions, musical worship, audio visual and tech support. We are committed to making the services accessible to as many people are possible with key parts of the service and some of the songs signed with Signed Assisted English. Extra help is always appreciated.

Pastoral Care Team – there are opportunities for those who have a heart for coming alongside those who need a listening ear, a chat over a coffee, a home cooked meal or shopping delivering.
Building development and maintenance. St Peter’s is an ancient Grade I listed building which we are gradually improving and reordering. There are also all the usual maintenance issues!

The best way to find out about any of these opportunities is to talk to someone either at the café or at a service. Of course, we have to follow our volunteer policy and safer recruitment guidelines before anyone can become a volunteer for most of these roles. This is to protect the volunteer as much as those they are helping.
