St Peter’s At The Cross is a place to worship, a place to pray, a place to eat, a place to create, a place to meet, a place to come into, a place to go out from, all ages welcomed and enjoyed - one community made up of many communities united by one Lord Jesus Christ. Our vision, to be a church sharing God’s Grace, Hope and Life at the heart of the city

We are open evangelical, Anglican and largely informal! Please do browse our website and then come and meet us and see if you would like to make St Peter’s your home!
Our Sunday morning services run from 10:30am - 12:00am(ish).

New Here?

St Peter's is an evangelical Anglican church sharing God's love at the heart of Chester city. We enjoy many different worship styles throughout the week, from our weekly worship services on a Sunday morning and Tuesday lunchtime, to 3rd Space wellbeing workshops, to the Isabella Theatre workshops, to Night Church's fortnightly sacred space, to enjoying fellowship at our 6 day a week cafe - phew! Although we do a lot in the week, at the heart of all we do, is the desire to give space for people to connect with Jesus.

At St. Peter's, we are a mixed mini economy of fresh expressions, and are blessed to be able to host a number of events and spaces for worship, prayer and response such as those listed below.
If you would like to find out more about any of the events that St. Peter's host, such as Baptisms, Funerals or Weddings, more details can be found by clicking 'Learn More' with times and dates.

Night Church

Night Church is a sacred space where, regardless of people’s views or beliefs, all are welcome. Night Church provides a peaceful and informal atmosphere with a café, live music and a warm welcome; giving space and time to sit quietly, listen to music, or chat to one of the team.
Night Church opens on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month between 9.30pm - 2am

More information including when Night Church is open can be found on their website: http://nightchurchchester.org/

The isabella theatre community

The Isabella Theatre Community, based in Chester, is an innovative arts based theatre movement. They exist to create excellent theatre, enable people to grow in confidence and develop communication skills.

Our vision is to create a community where people can experience a theatre-shaped church regardless of their faith.

Our monthly Contemplative Eucharist is a short (45 minute) service of Holy Communion in a quiet and reflective setting. Each month we include a contemplative practice before we receive bread and wine.

The service is open to all, and is especially suited to those who are seeking to deepen their prayer life and their devotion to Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.
Services are every 2nd Sunday of the month at 5.30pm.

3rd space

3rd Space is actively building community in the heart of Chester city centre.
We do this through offering a listening ear to visitors of the cafe and through building relationships. We provide therapeutic activities and wellbeing workshops to engage inclusively with those who are unoccupied during daytime hours forming a twice weekly touchpoint which is both consistent and supportive.

Open every Friday 1pm - 5.30pm, And every Wednesday 11am – 3pm

café at the cross

A warm welcome awaits you at St Peter’s Café which is run by volunteers on a daily basis. We serve a selection of soup, sandwiches, cakes and snacks.
Open, Monday – Friday 10am to 3.30pm and Saturday 10.30am to 3:30pm.

Every Tuesday at 1pm, St Peter’s holds an informal act of worship of singing, bible reading, a short talk and prayer! Please do come along if you are around - it is only 20 minutes and our numbers are growing every week!

Our morning gatherings create space to hear from the Holy Spirit. We have fellowship and prayer with one another and with prayer and thanksgiving give glory to God.

We have breakfast with one another before our service, so we would encourage you to get there slightly earlier so you don't miss out on the wonderful food and gathering of family.
Our morning services run from 10:30am - 12:00am(ish).
